I took a train to go to Berlin this afternoon, as I attended a presentation of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) about the Haiti earthquake, which interested me tremendously. I also went sightseeing through the city again and was on top of the television tower, went through the Brandenburg Gate and climbed up the roof of the German Reichstag (building in Berlin that houses the German parliament). I wanted to dine in a nice restaurant, which happened to be closed for the public, as Liam Neeson was filming there.
One day earlier one of the greatest luxury hotels in Berlin "exploded" for this reason, as the newspapers in Berlin pointed out. (But it was just a Hollywood trick.) Berlin always fascinates me and I like to be there. The train ride back to Hamburg was OK and I will get myself a new, small digital camera, as I usually don't have my large camera with me, when the mood of the lights is as beautiful as it was in Berlin on that day. And with my mobile phone the pictures just don't turn out as nicely as I would like them to turn out.
